‘Intergalacitc Mechanica’, uses fashion and technology to encompass the feeling of                                                           being one with the technology around us.

It is an exploration of adaption and what it means to live fast in the current and future worlds. It was heavily inspired by the most adaptable animal on earth, the octopus. Being a project for the Australian Grand Prix, the project specifically took inspiration from the Australian Blue Ringed Octopus. As this was the first Grand Prix since the 2020 pandemic, having a Covid Safe garment, that could warn other guests when they are no longer a safe distance away was the main goal for this look.

Aesthetically Intergalactic Mechanica took inspirations from celebrities such as Doja Cat and Ariana Grande, who are embracing technology and have a focus on sci-fi elements in their aesthetic, infiltrating spaces which are stereotypically seen as masculine.

I was one of the few chosen to have my work displayed in the Australian Grand Prix, and was quoted on the RMIT website as saying “Formula 1 is such an icon for technology, change and performance so to have my work displayed means so much to me.”
